Song By Teresa Tseng - "Endless Story"

Attired in a beautiful and elegant sky-blue dress, and complemented with a pair of glittering earrings, Teresa appeared onstage in the second half of the event with a solo rendition of Endless Story (right click the link above and open in new window to listen to the song), the original version of the Chinese song "Xiang Nian Ni De Ge" and to my great delight, she sang the entire song in Japanese!

To me, that was a quantum leap in her singing capabilities and her stage confidence as a Campus Superstar because she has always performed Mandarin songs in public and onstage ever since her crowning as the Female Champion of Campus Superstar I. Even if she has prior experience in singing foreign language songs, those would have been in the capacity of a member of the KC choir, which is an entirely different experience when one sings a foreign language song in a solo performance.

As I was told Teresa does read my blog, my assessment of her performance are as follows: Firstly the bad things (I am nitpicking here to stir her to strive harder for continued excellence) - Teresa's lownotes have improved considerably, especially since the song requires tons of those and she cleared with very little perceivable difficulty except for three instances throughout the performance. There was little stage movement so that the performance on the visual end was not as entertaining, especially during the long music interludes in-between the song. The curtain was drawn and Teresa had only one metre's worth of stage to move around. Thankfully, her stage attire was considered very beautiful and eye-catching amongst the cast of performers. For a couple of words in her chorus, Teresa's control was not absolute but she managed to recover quickly.

Now, the good things - It was the best performance by Teresa thus far. Her reach of her voice was mesmerizingly good and holding the audience motionless with the crystalline quality of her singing. She made every possible effort to emote the song to the appropriate levels with a good measure of stage movement and gesticulation within the narrow confines of the performing area. Once again Teresa has reminded me why I picked her as my choice of Campus Superstar to throw my support and aid behind. If I am going to choose all over again, it would still be her because her continual efforts to better herself and honour music with nothing but her best deserves respect and admiration from all those who can listen, see and feel. Way to go, Teresa. You are on your way to your dream.

Dear All,

Thank you for being there at EMDD, I am so sorry that I was not able to get Teresa to meetup with all of your. She is really busy and she would like to say SORRY and a VERY BIG THANK YOU for being there to support her.

As for this song, just a little info.....this version in Japanese is the original version......A-Mei's sister Saya, converted this song from Jap into Chinese.

Last but not least, this coming SAT, 14th July 2007, Teresa will be performing at Ngee Ann City for MOE's Youth Day Celebration. Hope to see you guys there, and maybe if time and crowd control permits, will get Teresa to say hi to you all great people out there.

Regards
Thomas

Hi Thomas and faithful supporters of Teresa!

I can understand - all concerts can be hectic and tiring. Thanks for informing her that we were there at the EMDD. Although it could have been "dangerous" to me (because some people simply hated Sean Ho and his blogging), it was a worthwhile trip to see Teresa at one of her best performances.

Personally, I am very pleased to see Teresa gaining good footing and presence in both her school's and public events. It definitely means that organizers (from both private and public sectors) like Teresa enough to include her in their list of guest performers and the audience are more exposed (and hopefully attracted) to her performances. This is what a Superstar is all about though it can be very tiring for the girl. Send my regards to Teresa and remind her to get adequate rest within all the possible breaks in-between this period of events.

I have also followed up Thomas' update on the latest SYF event and below are the details. Anyone wants to meet up and tag along as a group together? Please respond to this thread asap so there is enough time to organize and coordinate the supporters.
